Sarah Towsley Connection

Sarah (Sally) Towsley married Ron Towsley and they had 4 children together. Francine, Leann, Cynthia and Holli. Ron Towsley's parents were from Woodhull, New York.

The Towsley line is found to go back to Gideon Towsley, unknown birth date and death. English heritage. It has been told that a Towsley was a "turncoat" in the Revolutionary War and became an American.

Amos Towsley was the son of Gideon and Mary Olds Towsley. Amos was born 12/08/1756.

The Towsley family tree is fairly complete and Fran has a 33 page file on the Towsley heritage.

Blooming Grove Dunkard Church, PA

The Blooming Grove Church is located on Dunkard Church Road off of Rt. 973 East coming from Rt 15 or Rt 87 and also can be accessed from I 180 then to Market Street Blooming Grove Rd, then go east on Rt 973. Directions to the Dunkard Church
The Meeting House was built in 1828 and the area for which the church is named after is Blooming Grove. German settlers arrived in 1805. In 1804 the people left Germany after traveling 68 days by sea and they spent a winter in Germantown, they originally were from Wurttemburg, Germany. In 1708 the members of the German Baptist Brethren refused to fight in the war and because of this belief, John and Gottlieb Heim served in prison in 1803 for not bearing arms for Napoleon. They were released in one year and were made to promise that they would emigrate to America. The families left for America on the ship "Margaret" from Aruheim(Arnheim?), Holland on June 9th, 1804 and landed in Philadelphia on September 18. The party that the family remained with on the journey spent the winter in GermanTown. Their pastor and leader was Dr. Frederick Conrad Haller. Allen Family and Hart Benjamin, Almeda (Meedee) Allen-Mother and Father unknown. Buried at Borden Cemetary, NY. Married Joel Benjamin (1/2 brother to Oscar). Had three children: Dora (married William Brown-children, Ethel (Jones)and Francis (Carter), George (married Sadie? and Lula?, children Anna Mae, Rush (married Kelly? and Clarabelle?, children Elon, Howard, Archie, William, Charles and Thomas).
Allen, William Love (brother to Almeda and a disowned brother John)-Born in Addison or Dansville, NY. Died in 1958 in Westfield, PA. Married Flora Newell (children Bessie Arwine Hill-died 1987 and Harold Arwine, also married Mary Winter.
Allen, Chet (possibly brother to William and Almeda Allen)born? Had a son Harry. Harry had a dughter Loretta who married George Bennett in Ulyses, PA.
Allen, Bessie-died in Jasper, NY. Daughter of Flora and William Allen. Married Frank Arwine and Frank Hill.

Allen, Isma May- Born 1912. Daughter of Mary Winter and William Love Allen. Married Arthur H. Hart. Daughter Sarah Ann (Sally), Isma also married Alfred Lawrence Chamberlain. They had children, David, Dick and Pattie. Chamberlain had another child: Nancy Foster (of PA). Nancy's older brother Billy (William)?
